New Role within BC Disc Sports

 BC Disc Sports welcomes Carrie Neal as the Community Liaison for the 2017-2018 Board year. This purpose of this role is to work with clubs and support or create relationships with municipalities.

If you have not met Carrie on the course here is a bit about her:
-Home Course: Rose Hill Disc Golf Course
-Home Club: Kamloops Disc Golf Club (KDGC)
- Been playing disc golf since 2001
-Served on the KDGC Board of Directors since 2002
-Served over 10 terms as the KDGC President 
-Started being a tournement director in 2004
-Some highlights of her TD role are the 2004, 2011 & 2013 Canadian Championships
-In 2006, Carrie was the TD for the International Women's Cup bringing a small but exclusive group of Pro Women  players to Kamloops including Val Jenkins (in her rookie year), Juliana Korver, Des Reading, Elaine King and Carrie Burloger. This was ground breaking for Canadian disc golf! There has not been a gathering like this of Touring Pro Women in Canada since.
-In  2006 Carrie traveled to Peoria Illinois for the USWDGC which cemented her love for disc golf and her desire to grow the sport for women.
-Carrie was a sponsored Innova Ambassador thanks to the work she did to bring women to the sport.
-Carrie has created, organized and facilitated hundreds of Learn To Play Clinics for schools, community groups and professional business associations. 

Carrie's thoughts on the sport moving forward:
"Disc golf is on the cusp of exploding in Canada and I see a need to involve youth just as much as women. They are both minority groups in the sport and the addition of them would push disc golf in Canada into the next realm of recognition on the World stage. Grassroots play along with support and inclusiveness is, in my opinion, the way to bring more players to the sport. Competition and the desire to succeed will grow organically with each individual."
